I knew I shouldn't have gone running into the woods. As I stood there, being defended by the most handsome grey and white wolf I had ever seen, I instinctively knew that it was Rohan, and the knowledge both thrilled and saddened me. My mate, the Alpha had not seen fit to come to my aid and it hurt, more than I could bear. I truly was worth nothing to him. More than nothing. He was willing to put my life on the line in order to be free of me.
