(Doris' POV)
The next morning, I groggily opened my eyes. The day was fast spent, yet I was just waking up.
I stretched my hand to the other side of the bed with my eyes still sleepy and half opened, but couldn't feel Xavier. I quickly opened my eyes and realized he wasn't on the bed with me and sat up.
Suddenly, the door opened, gasping my attention. And there he was, holding a tray of meal, approaching the bed.
“Good morning, sunshine.” He said in a sing-song tone, placed the tray on the bed and kissed me on the forehead.
“Good morning to you too. What a pleasant surprise,” I smiled and sniffed in the aroma of the meal.
I shut my eyes slightly for a minute and was mesmerized by it.
“This better be nice.” I said and proceeded to take a bite.
