By the time the morning sun drifted into her room, Mystic had been up for hours. Her conversation with Kalan ran through her mind, confusing her even more. She got out of bed and made her way to the bathroom. She turned on both taps and waited for the water to get warm. She pulled off the robe he gave her, and stepped into the shower. She stood under the spray of water, wishing it could wash away the guilt and pain she felt inside. But there was nothing that could take it away. She was going to have to live with it for the rest of their lives. Mystic sniffed back the tears that filled her eyes. She lived without him for years. She can do it again.
