“Time for us to leave, hun. The car’s waiting,” Trevor almost whispered to my ear, but it wasn’t totally a whisper because I was not the only one to hear it. Surely, Edward and Eunice heard that, too.
I suddenly felt my cheeks burn because of how close he was to me, and he wasn’t even hesitating being this close to me in front of other people!
I chose to get myself together, though and turned to my friends to wave goodbye. “We gotta go now, Edward, Eunice? Have a great day. Anyway, it was nice seeing you again, and Eunice, it was nice meeting you.”
Edward nodded understandingly and smiled, while Eunice smiled a little, too.
“Same,” she simply responded.
“I hope we can meet some other time again and we’ll have a chance to talk longer. Goodbye, Eli. Take care,” Edward said.
