Ryan and Quentin could hear the sincerity in Nyrissa's voice, even under the small smile she had on her face. They had been hoping that she would open up to them, and they had worried it would take a long time.
Now, they were at that moment. Ryan and Quentin were afraid to breathe for fear that she would change her mind.
"You know you can tell us anything, sweetheart," Ryan insisted.
"I am coming to realize that," Nryissa replied with a sardonic smile. "The things you have done for Natalie, even though she is not your sister, have shown me just how sweet and kind you both truly are. I apologize for it taking so long."
Quentin squeezed her hand. "It's alright, Nyrissa. You've gone through a lot. Anyone would be cautious under those circumstances."
