Chapter Fifteen

1457 Words
Michaela Walker. Michaela fluttered her eyelids open, feeling groggy. Her mouth and throat felt dry, hissing at the sudden headache. She sat up suddenly, and the headache worsened, scowling at the unfamiliar room she was in. Though it was dimly lit, she could tell that it was sunny outside the only window in the room, which was covered by a thick, heavy curtain. Michaela yelped when her hand touched something hard. Her headache had gotten worse when she shrieked. Half-naked-Rafe squinted his eyes open, glaring at her. “Why the hell are you screaming so early in the morning?!” Michaela was a stammering mess, pulling the blanket over her chest when she found herself only in her blue panties and tank top, her eyes already welled up in tears. “W-We. . . We slept together.” Rafe chuckled in his pillow, grabbing her arm and pulling her down to his chest. “Stop being annoying and go back to sleep.” But how could she go back to sleep?! She couldn’t get over the indecent state they were in, sharing the same bed. The last thing Michaela remembered was drinking some more wine with Rafe and talking, then making out again, which was amazing from what she could remember, and that was it. She couldn’t recall anything else from that point until she woke up here. Michaela held herself back from squealing like a pig when Rafe buried his face in her hair, his hand venturing down to her behind, pinching her buttock. She let out a whimper, blushing even more, lying rigidly on his chest, engulfed by his intoxicating, masculine scent. Rafe's chest rumbled, laughing at her reaction, saying. “So, now you’re feeling shy?” Michaela’s eyes widened at what he implied, cursing her mind to remember what happened last night. She has never slept with anyone before, so she didn’t know what could serve as a hint to confirm that she rolled between the sheets with Rafe. Apart from the headache, she felt absolutely fine. “Did we. . .” “Did we have s*x?” He cut in, running his finger down her arm, making her shiver all over. “You’re telling me you don’t remember how wild you were last night?!” She tried to sit up, but Rafe tightened his grip around her. “Not only did you rip my shirt off, and it was made out of expensive Cursedtarantula webs, which is quite sturdy, so I’m quite impressed. You also groped me relentlessly, whispered sweet-nothings in my ears, tempting me with your lustful voice that I couldn’t hold back anymore.” “But since you don’t remember,” he went on when Michaela couldn’t gather her thoughts to say anything, gripping her jaw softly upward to meet his eyes. “I guess I have to refresh your memory.” Michaela’s ears started ringing from the amount of blood that rushed to her head. “R-Refresh my memory?” She dumbly asked, and Rafe smirked. “Yes, but you need to entice me first.” Rafe snorted a laugh when she looked as if she was about to cry, saying. “Nothing happened, silly. I brought you with me to this Inn when you said you’re feeling sleepy, and you kept complaining about how hot you felt once we got here, trying to get fully naked. I stopped you, of course, but you still managed to get out of your shorts.” Michaela hit him harder in the chest, yet Rafe didn’t show even a tiny bit of a reaction, laughing harder. She sat up, getting flustered, knowing well what he said was something she would do. “And why are you naked?” She finally found her voice, glaring at him for teasing her. “Oh, that! I figured you wouldn’t remember a thing from last night since you were so out of it, so I did this to see your reaction. And I got to say it's damn amusing-Ugh!” Michaela jumped off the bed after successfully hitting Rafe’s jewels, earning a satisfying groan. “No matter how powerful of an expert you are, you’ll always have sensitive balls.” Her smirk fell when he quickly sat up and pulled her back to the bed, pinning her beneath him, smugly saying. “Where do you think you’re going?” “Get off me, jerk! I need to get ready for work!” Michaela didn’t like the smile Rafe showed, bearing a hint of mischief for what he had in mind, as he lowered his face to the crook of her neck, his lips lightly brushing her sensitive spot, making her shiver in want. “Kirby!” She exclaimed when she remembered her pet, using this opportunity to shove him away and sit up, fleeing his grasp. “He’s fine. I left him back at the restaurant. Come back here.” Rafe whined, but she ignored him, finding her shorts and putting them on, smiling his way. “I’ll see you later.” She hastily left the room, hearing him huff in frustration, running down the stairs to the foyer of the inn. Michaela was thankful that no one was around as she took her first walk of shame back to Malick’s place. All the way, she kept trying to will away the blush that covered her cheeks, thinking of the many kisses she shared with Rafe. Michaela was smiling like an i***t. She walked inside Malick’s house, stopping in her tracks at the sight of a pretty young girl in a beautiful pink dress, sitting in a chair while Malick was preparing something. “Oh, sorry,” she apologized for being loud as Malick hated getting interrupted while working. However, the latter didn’t look annoyed, glancing her way, giving her a once-over, snickering. “You had a wild night, I see.” Michaela nervously laced her fingers through her hair, realizing that she was dressed indecently for people in this world, gulping. “Sorry, I rushed back to get changed.” “And you lost your shirt on the way?” He slyly remarked, and the young girl giggled, smiling her way. “You must be Hannah?” Michaela noticed how her eyes sized her up as she said. “I came here to see you.” “See me?!” The young girl nodded. “Yes, Mr. Zillith was nice enough to allow me to wait for you here.” Michaela frowned at Mallick’s way, and he shrugged, excusing himself as he left the room. “Do I know you?” The young girl gestured with her hand for Michaela to sit down first, and she complied, choosing to sit on the corner of the chemistry bench instead of the chair next to her. She didn't know why, but she felt apprehensive towards her. The young girl smiled. “My name is Nirvana Goliath, the princess of Crystfire Kingdom.” She stared at her as if she was expecting something. However, Michaela was too dumbfounded to do or say anything, glaring at her with a frown. She definitely didn’t expect Princess Nirvana to come looking for her, and she didn’t know why. In the original story, Nirvana got occupied during this time, preparing for her birthday party, which usually would take weeks to get everything ready. But here she was, sitting in front of her, looking as she expected her to be, so charming, poised, and polite. “You don’t remember me. Do you?” Michaela shook her head, as she only knew her from the cursed book and haven’t met her before. But with the mess the book created, she figured that many things had changed. Princess Nirvana's smile fell, sadness was clear on her features, saying. “When I fell down a tree and twisted my ankle, you wiped my tears and carried me to the royal doctor's office. When I failed the spiritual test, crying for not succeeding, you stood in front of the elders and demanded I retake the test. When I got poisoned and needed the rare moon-flower-tear to heal, you gave up your spiritual core for me and fell in a charmed sleep in my stead.” Michaela’s frown deepened, flinching when the Princess stood up and held her hand. “Michaela, how can you forget your sister?”
