Lyssa
As soon as I am off the clock, I am out the door and making my way across the street. The place is full of members of the MC tonight. However, I am not surprised to see a few of the guys. Any time Emilia is out anywhere, there are at least two members of the club nearby as well. She says it's because her dad and brother are overprotective, and to ignore the guys. Some of the guys, like D, aren't too bad, and Emilia actually seems to enjoy their company. To be honest, not all of the guys are bad-looking, and I wouldn't mind hooking up with one or two of them. However, I have not yet gathered the courage to approach any of them, and they all speak to me as they do Emilia, almost as if I were a little sister. Tonight, though, instead of the two or so members, there are at least a dozen, all of them I have seen at least once or twice, except one.
When I walk into the bar, I get to see the one guy I have never seen before set Emilia down onto her feet before she rolls her eyes at him and walks off toward the bar. Taking a quick second to look the guy over, he looks a lot like D, only a little older and more muscular. I thought D was attractive looking, but seeing this new guy makes me think D has more growing to do. Don't get me wrong, I think he is still attractive looking, but this new guy looks like he knows his way around a bit more, if you know what I mean.
Pulling my eyes away from the new guy, I focus on making my way over to the bar where Emilia is. Making it just in time for the bartender to set the last of the drinks the Em had ordered. Em lighting up as I reached her.
"Oh, good. Just in time. That one right there is yours, and then if you can grab the bottle of water as well, I can get the rest of these."
"Thanks."
I grab the glass with rum and coke in it, my favorite drink, and the bottle of water. Both of us turned and headed back to the group of MC guys. The guys taking bottles of beer from Em as we pass, leaving her with one final bottle of beer and her fruity mix drink, and me with my drink and the bottle of water by the time we reach D and the new guy.
"The water is for the old man there."
Em says as she holds the last bottle of beer out to D, who takes the bottle from her with a laugh. The new guy, turning away from D, looks between the two of us, his eyes moving over me once before landing on Em with an eyebrow raised.
"Little Duck, I think you forgot I am only two days older than you."
Slowly, Em's eyes narrow at him, causing him to smile. When she doesn't say anything more, he turns his eyes back to me and reaches his hand out, taking the water from me.
"Thank you…"
"Lyssa."
I fill in for him, though I'm surprised he hears me, as my voice won't go above a whisper, and my heart starts pounding like mad in my chest. There is no way everyone around us can't hear my heart nearly beating out of my chest; it only beats louder as his smile grows ever so slightly. My whole world is narrowing down to the two of us. Emilia sighing next to me and wrapping her arm with mine reminds me there are other people around, pulling my full attention away from him.
"Goose here is one of the guys we can happily ignore."
Turning us, Emilia walks us away from the guys. However, I can't help but look back just long enough to see Goose's smile grow even more.
"Aw, come on, Little Duck, don't be like that."
Emilia puts her drink in the hand attached to the arm wrapped with mine and holds her middle finger up, directed at Goose. This only causes him and D to laugh as Emilia grumbles next to me.
"I really hate that nickname, and he knows it."
Turning back to her, I can't help but laugh a little too. This gains me a half-hearted glare from her.
"Sorry, but you know he only calls you by it because it bothers you, right?"
Sighing, she lets go of my arm and takes a sip of her drink.
"I know. Him calling me by that name just reminds me he will only ever see me as a little sister instead of his best friend's sister. Not that I'm sure I really want him to see me as more; he doesn't do relationships. At least not that I have ever seen."
Taking a sip of my drink, I glance back over to the group of MC guys, just long enough to see that Goose hasn't stopped watching the two of us. Or should I say me? His eyes are one hundred percent on me while he and D talk to each other. Turning back to my friend, I try to ignore the eyes that I can feel on me for the next however long it takes for me to have at least two more glasses of rum and coke. I want to ask her more questions about Goose, but I don't, and let the conversation drop, allowing her to change the subject. And as long as she's buying the drinks, I'm not exactly one to complain. Besides, by the end of the night, she makes her way back over to the MC guys, who are still there by the time last call is called. And just like most nights that D is with us, she ends up in his lap, flirting with him.
