LAVENDER'S POV
I looked at Larry, still feeling my cheeks hot as he continues to laugh while Damon was sure pissed at me. "W-what are you laughing at, you piece of s**t?" I said, whispering to Larry not to let Damon hear what I said. "You're going to get me fired on my first day here, you i***t. Stop laughing!" I said but Larry just continued to laugh, way more loud than he was doing earlier.
"Get out of my house, or I will f*****g beat you up, Jones," Damon said with his stern expression and cold voice, but Larry was weird. He did not stop laughing until he tones down as he realizes that Damon and I are both silent to death.
Larry just shook his head before looking at me, smiling while his eyes still have tears, evidence of him being weird. "Sorry, sorry. I just..." he brushes off the tears in his eyes before looking at me again. "Here, let sit down. Don't worry about Damon. He can't stay mad at us," Larry said that only made my eyes widen, afraid that what he is saying is not true and that Damon is mad, only that he is not showing it while he's looking at Larry and me.
Feeling my heart beating fast, I train my eyes down to the ground, trying my best not to look at Damon while Larry is also helping me to sit in front of Damon who is on the left side of the long table while Larry sits to the chair next to me in my left.
"Next time, I won't tolerate you flirting with my caregiver, Larry. My properties and the people I'm paying for to you are off-limits. You understand?" Damon said with a tone of anger mixed in his cold voice.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Larry said before chuckling while I was so embarrassed. Even if Larry and I are not really flirting at all earlier, the last thing I want is Damon's eyes to look at me. To notice me or watch me do anything that I'm doing. I just don't want him always to notice me. I mean, it's really shocking. Just like what happened back then, I don't have the idea that Damon will see me back then, I mean, I'm just a nobody, and I still am.
"What's with the fuss here?" said a soft voice of a woman.
When I turned around to see the owner of the voice, my mouth fell. As I'm looking at a woman who's walking sexily towards us. I felt like the environment around me turned blurry and like, she was the only one I was seeing. Feeling my heart beating, I noticed how her face has a shape of oblong, her skin tone as beige-looking, and her upturned eyes that are colored grey. She also has a straight nose while her lips are wide but looking soft.
I gulped at the woman who sat next to Damon. She was wearing a bandanna as her top while she paired it with track pants and I must say, she nailed it. Feeling hot and my heart racing, I quickly took the glass that is filled with water in front of me before drinking it, bottoms up.
Damn it! Does Damon's family always this gifted? I wish I can
"Miss Miller, this is my sister, Daisy," Damon said as I put down the glass that is now empty in front of me. "She will be the one you will be taking car---"
"Not really. I'm still fine and I can still remember just fine, Damon," she said sarcastically to Damon that made him silent, making me raise a brow because of what just happened but I quickly put on a smile as Damon's sister, Daisy, darted her eyes to me before raising her left hand in front of me.
"Hi, my name is Daisy Ellington but you can just call me, Issy. I don't want you calling me Mam or Miss, please. I'm a b***h but don't worry, you..." she stopped as she looked at Damon before darting back her eyes to me. "... and I, are going to be best friends," she said that made me quite uncomfortable before raising myself to shake my hands with her.
I chuckle awkwardly. Seeing Damon quiet makes me think that maybe Damon is afraid of her sister. Just like what he said, he wants to establish a connection again with his sister but he just can't because of everything that drifted them away from each other. I hope I can help both of them have the bond they have lost.
I smile before introducing myself to Damon's sister. "Pl-please to meet you, uh, Mi-I mean, Issy. My name is Lavender Miller, your caregiver starting today," I said, feeling uncomfortable for calling Damon's sister with the name she has given.
Daisy clapped, happy that I obeyed her first rule to me. "Now, you and I are going to be friends. Even if I hate this guy her..." Daisy said as she pointed her thumb at Damon. "For hiring another caregiver to take care of me, you aren't going to be involved in my anger. It's just him I hate," Daisy as she looks at Damon nonchalantly while Damon is only looking at the plate in front of him, silent.
Wow. Well, this is kind of awkward. I feel a bit sad for Damon for receiving hate from his sister, so I really wish I could help both of them. Even if Damon has made me quite uncomfortable, I'm not going to quit just because I can't stop myself from feeling embarrassed. This job pays excellently so I also want to do my best for both of them, Damon and his sister, Daisy.
"Well..." Larry said as he noticed that the four of us became silent. "Introduction is done. Let's start eating. Damon, my man. You still have..." Larry looks at his wristwatch before darting back his eyes at Damon. "You still have forty-seven minutes to eat with us before those shitheads come here so let's do this," Larry said as he rubbed both of his hands while looking hungrily at the foods in front of him.
"Tch, even brought business problems here, aren't you?" Daisy said, looking pissed at his brother. "Shame," Daisy added.
I was a bit shocked when Damon suddenly stood up. He looked at me that before to his sister and Larry who is now eating. "Come to my office when you're done eating, Larry. Don't keep me waiting," he said before leaving his seat and walking away.
"Aw... but I want to enjoy these foods," Larry said, disappointed but Damon just ignored him as he disappeared.
"Tch," I heard Daisy say before her eyes looked at me again. She smiled before that made me also smile. "Don't worry about my brother. He's just so business-minded," she said, smiling.
"What you said is right, Daisy. But he's only like that because he doesn't want to lose the important thing your Dad left for the both of you. Just try to understand him, Daisy," Larry said but Daisy just rolled her eyes on him, making me chuckle before erasing it as Daisy darted her eyes on me again.
"Let's eat before I bring you to my room," Daisy said that made me smile until she raised her brow at me. "Sorry, what's your name again?"
So this is what she looks like when her condition makes her forget things? I put a soft smile on my lips before answering her. "My name is Lavender Miller," I responded that she made her nod. a
"Ahh... okay, okay. Sorry, I forgot," she said as she beams sweetly, making my heart soars for a second. "Eat, don't be shy around here. Every caregiver that Damon has hired was considered a family here so don't be shy," she said which made me nod, still not really comfortable though I started scooping food for myself little by little.
"I bet has Damon already told you about my condition? Are you okay with me forgetting things? I mean, I really can get annoying too sometimes, finding this and that?" Daisy asked but I shook my head as a response.
I don't want Daisy to think that way. That I'm going to be impatient whenever she's forgetful. People like her need someone who has a lot of patience in store inside of them. Luckily, I'm one of those.
"Nah, I'm a caregiver so I have a lot of patience," I said that made Daisy smile before nodding.
"Well, you're right," she said before taking a fork of chicken she was eating. "But my past caregivers are really a pain in the ass. They are not helping me at all. They are not keeping track of my medicine which I should be taking on time since it's the only thing that can slow down the progress of my condition," Daisy said which made me quite pissed.
Those people should not be working at all. Medicines are important to people like Daisy and they should know that because it might cause something terrible when medications are not taken on time. If only I encountered those people in here, I swear to God, I will piss the s**t out of them.
"Sorry about those persons, I-issy. I promise I'm not like those persons. I worked hard to get enough credentials and to get this job just to mess it up once I'm already in a job? No way," I said that made Daisy nod again, getting my point.
"That's nice to hear. Since I was diagnosed with early-onset dementia, all I can do is be at home because that's what Damon decided even if I can still go out there. I still have at least fifteen years before the effects started to really get worse but instead of living my life, Damon was a really dickhead for locking me in here," Daisy said before pouting which makes her quite adorable in my eyes.
Oh, s**t! I wish I will not end up falling in love with Damon or Daisy. Damon affects me already while Daisy is becoming more and more beautiful and my eyes, making my heartbeat frantically.
"Eat first, ladies. I'm still here. Do the talking when you're in your rooms," Larry said who is now busy munching his food.
Daisy looking pissed, she picks up a portion of kernel corn in her hands before throwing it to Larry who was startled seeing the drops of kernel corn in the business suit he is wearing. I keep my mouth shut, trying to suppress my laugh as I watch Daisy stick her tongue out to Larry who's dumbfounded while traces of kernel corn was in his suit, staining it.
"If only you aren't your brother's sister, I will definitely kill you, Daisy," Larry said who was really angry while he was flicking off every kernel of corn that was staining his suit.
I like Daisy already. She's quite a lovely spirit and fearless even if Damon and Larry are finding it hard to be connected at Daisy. I think Daisy just needs time to be with her brother because just like what happened earlier, she hated that her Damon would bring those people that Larry always calls shitheads. And that is what I'm going to ask for Damon once he has time to spare for his sister. I will help Damon do whatever he wants for Daisy. I will help him bring back the connection they once have as brother and sister.
It also saddens me not to have the time to meet Damon and Daisy's parents because helping these two Ellington to have a connection again, it's not going to be easy. As Damon is always busy while Daisy hates her brother. Damon has a hard time to express his feelings and thoughts to his sister while Daisy is just a b***h because I think, just like those kids who want their parent's attention, her brother's attention is what she needs.
