"Why haven't you two resigned from your positions yet?" I asked calmly, though my patience was running thin. Both remained silent, but Lena looked like she was on the verge of breaking down, while Sarah’s defiance was unmistakable.
“We still want to serve,” Sarah replied, her voice dripping with disrespect. It was subtle but unmistakable.
“Well, I do not require your services,” I said, my tone firm. “It’s best you resign and go work for your Luna, wherever she may be.”
