46. Inevitable

“Love! It's something I was going to talk to you about. Do you remember that night in Toronto? We were reckless.” My mind tries to recall what happened that night, but it's confused.
“Let's go. Did you take your car?” She shook her head, so taking her by the elbow, we headed towards mine.
I let her in, and when we're both inside, I start the car and drive off quickly. The city passes by as I think about all the mistakes I've made. Maybe if I had been honest with Michelle, she would have given me a chance earlier, but I must admit that I always thought she would love me unconditionally, accepting what I gave her. I was such a fool.
I stopped the car and waited for her to get out. She follows me with her head down, but if she thinks I'll let this go, she doesn't know
