It's been two days since Kate isolated herself in the room, and Thorne kept coming back to the Inn to persuade Evelyn to let him talk to Kate.
"Katie," Evelyn said. "I don't want to put pressure on you, but you need to settle things as soon as possible," she added and touched her hand.
"You'll never get away from it until you face it." Kate bowed. She understood that sooner or later, they would have to address whatever had been hanging in the air between them, and now was the time for it.
"I will, Eve," Kate said. "When he comes back, tell him I will meet him later, please," she added. Evelyn smiled at her friend.
"Of course, Katie. Don't worry, I will be here for you," Evelyn said.
