“Hey, did you get invited to Naomi’s party next month?” I asked while sitting in the spa chair, enjoying the warm foot bath.
“Yeah, Adonis called me and asked me to be his date for it.”
“Aren’t you his girlfriend?”
“Well… Yeah, but you never know what I’m doing next month, too. So, I’m happy you called.”
“Hm.”
I was doing our daily packaging and I could just feel Mia staring at me. I slapped my hands on the table and turned to her.
“Yes?” I asked her.
“Are you and Alias.. Using protection when you guys are intimate?”
My eyes widened when she asked me that. I looked around to make sure nobody was hearing it and I glanced at her.
“Sometimes…” I told her.
“Sometimes? Like in….”
“Girl, nobody thinks about that when they’re in the moment.”
