Okafu sat in class half listening to the lecturer. She couldn’t wait for the class to end so she could run home. So far she has managed to avoid Ren at every opportunity. He came to her home several times, but her mother, thank God, told him she wasn’t there every time.
Okafu loved her mother for doing that for her. Though her father wasn’t on board with that. If it was up to him she would be married off by now.
Okafu moaned in the back of her throat, wishing she had a better father. No, father should force her child to get married to a stranger.
But apparently Ren wasn’t a stranger.
They’ve been together. Had s*x and everything.
Okafu shivered at the thought and the memory of them behind her house. The way he had easily held her against the wall, pushing his very hard c**k against her p***y was so hot. And still managed to turn her on whenever she thought about it.
Okafu had read the texts he’d sent to her over and over again, until she could recall them at a minute’s thought. She wanted to ask him for more information, but was afraid to open that door.
If only he didn’t want to force her to marry him, they could become friends and he could fill in the gaps that were in her past.
Okafu gasped at the thought imagining Ren sitting next to her and having a normal conversation. She almost laughed. There was no way he would do that.
Ren only wanted one thing.
To make her his wife, whether she wanted to or not.
“Are you coming?”
“What?” Okafu looked up to find Lina staring at her expectantly. She looked around her and the class was already emptied out.
“You’re zoning out lately. Are you alright?”
“Yes,” Okafu got up and got to her feet. She picked up her books and stuffed them into the backpack.
She followed Lina out the door and came to an abrupt stop when she saw Kane leaning on the opposite wall in the hallway.
“He’s been waiting for you out here.” Lina stated the obvious and then started to walk down the hallway. Okafu followed.
“Hey,” Kane said matching them step for step.
“Hi.” Okafu gave him a welcoming smile.
“I’ve been meaning to have a chat with you but you disappear after every class.”
“Yeah, I know.” Okafu looked at her sneakered feet, suddenly feeling shy. Kane was tall, handsome and very easy going, he wasn’t like Ren who was rough and intimidating yet sexy – Okafu found herself unable to ignore the latter no matter how much she wanted to deny it. She found Ren Amatapa attractive. Though scary in his dominating and overwhelming way. She bit her lip not sure why she was comparing the two men. They were nothing alike. And that was a good thing. And it wasn’t like she could date Kane even if she wanted to. Ren would kill them both. Maybe they could become friends, there was no harm in that, right?
Kane came to a stop next to the gates that led out of the university.
“Do you think I can get your number? I mean, we could talk via text,” he said smiling at her sheepishly.
“Sure,” Okafu pulled out her phone and handed it to him. Kane punched in his number and handed it to her. Okafu grasped her phone, but instead of Kane letting go he stepped closer to her.
“I had a good time that night at the club. I would really like to take you out.” He whispered.
“Uhm…” Okafu stepped away from him, feeling weird. Before she could formulate an answer she felt strong arms wrap around her and pull he into a stronger chest. Her heart thudded in her chest as she knew who it was without looking.
She would recognize that intoxicating scent anywhere.
Ren…
He smelled so delicious and reminded her of that moment he’d pinned her to the wall. Okafu’s body lit up like a Christmas tree at his nearness. It was as if she’d never avoided him for three days, and didn’t want anything to do with him as she sank into his warmth.
“You never told me what you found out about that boy,” Ren had asked as he stared at Okafu and that opportunistic punk she met at his club. He watched them as they moved slowly towards the gates. She hadn’t spotted his car yet. She looked so carefree and a small smile played on her lips. Ren’s fists clenched on his thighs in anger. Mostly directed at himself.
Why couldn’t she be like that with him again?
He missed being the object of her adoration. She used to look at him with such love in her eyes and graced him with sunny smiles that took his breath away.
Now she didn’t even care if he was there or not.
She doesn’t remember you, a voice in his mind said. He knew that, but sometimes it felt like she never will remember him. And he would be forced to let her go.
No! Never!
They came to a stop at the gates and exchange phone numbers. It was clear what he wanted. Ren’s nostrils flared and a possessive feeling he’s never felt before surged within him like a tsunami wave. He didn’t even wait for Paul to respond to his statement. Within seconds he was out of the car and pulling his bride to be into his arms. She didn’t even fight him. And for a minute he relished the feel of her in his arms. She felt so good against him. If he’d had any doubts now he knew she belonged to him.
Mine, Ren’s lips trailed over her neck, breathing in her enticing scent. He clenched his teeth as their moment was cut short as Okafu somehow came to her senses and pulled away from him.
“Let her go,” the boy said advancing on Ren. Ren saw red and closed his hand around his throat. The boy was tall, but Ren was taller and bigger. His fingers squeezed harder around the boy’s neck and saw his eyes bulge as his air was cut off.
“Oh my God,” someone gasped closed to him, but his focus was on the boy.
“Ren?” Paul’s arms came around him. “You can’t kill him. Let go.”
Ren stared at the boy murderously for a few minutes and then let go.
“You come near her again. You’re dead,” he said, his voice hard as steel.
“You run,” he heard Paul say to the boy as Ren turned to Okafu.
“Come with me,” he said.
Okafu stared at him as if he was crazy. She wasn’t going anywhere with him.
“Now, Okafu.” He closed his hand around her arm and guided her towards the car. Okafu wanted to resist, but a crowd was gathering around them. Lina stood to the side looking dazed. People even had their phones out to record whatever was happening.
