Cole had vanished. I checked my phone again, but still, there was nothing. No messages. No calls. No voicemails. The man had disappeared, and no one cared. That wasn’t true, of course. I cared. Naomi cared and even Mandy had expressed her concern. Erik had brushed off my questions with vague reassurances. Everyone seemed to believe that Cole had gone on a business trip.
