Cole I tried to act like I wasn’t waiting for Tori to return home after her meeting. The sun had just begun to dip below the horizon, and I admired the shades of gold and lavender in the sky. I was seated on the porch and the creak of the wooden rocking chair was the only sound besides the distant calls of the horses that were still grazing in the field. When I spotted Tori’s car coming up the dirt path, I stopped rocking and watched as my chest tightened. I wasn’t even sure why. I was filled with anticipation.
