“Ugh, Monday,” I muttered as I leaned back in my seat. Monday had come faster than I wanted. The sleepless night had left me feeling more on edge than usual. Erik’s office also felt colder than usual, and I wasn’t sure if it was because I was on edge or because he had the temperature down. Erik was seated behind his desk while I was seated across from him. My leg bounced restlessly as the tension in the air hung heavily on unspoken truths.
“Right…shall we talk about the elephant in the room?” Erik asked as he leaned back in his chair. I let out a dry laugh as I rubbed the back of my neck.
“I assume you are referring to the big, fat lie we told Tori and Naomi?” I asked and Erik raised an eyebrow.
