My phone buzzed on the nightstand, and it woke me up. The vibrations broke through the quiet of the early morning as I groggily reached for it. I squinted at the screen, unsure of who was calling at this ungodly hour.
“Hello?” I answered as I sat up.
“Tori, it’s Damon. Sorry to wake you, but Vanessa went into labor. We are at the hospital, and we are asking for everyone to come and join us,” Damon said, his voice was a mixture of excitement and panic.
“Sure…we are on our way,” I said as the grogginess started to fade and was replaced with excitement. Cole stirred beside me just as I hung up the call.
