The ship was already almost at Bach Castle, and Carl was not far from his return journey to Toodadis when Nia's entourage was suddenly attacked by a mage. It was hard to blame Carl for thinking it was Bryant who had launched this attack, since Bryant might be trying to stop his daughter from leaving.
However, after Carl dashed out of the room and came to the deck, he discovered that he had been wrong. The one who had lifted the ship out of the waters was not Bryant, but a mage he did not recognize.
A magic circle large enough to block the sun surrounded the ship. A middle-aged man in a long robe was suspended in the sky covered in runes. He waved his arm and the giant magic circle was able to suck the entire ship out of the rushing waters.
