Jaxon Elijah and I stand mere inches apart, both of us barely holding back, my wolf pacing inside, urging me to finish this, to show him who’s in control. But then Nina’s voice cuts through, sharp and resolute, freezing both of us in place. “Enough,” she snaps, her voice commanding every bit of authority she has. “This isn’t some damn brawl in an alley. Both of you need to act with some decorum. You’re not rabid wolves fighting over scraps.” I try to calm the instinctive anger bubbling inside, clenching my fists to hold back. I watch as Nina’s gaze shifts, landing first on Dominic. She gives a small nod, silent but understood.
