I don’t know how long I stayed on the floor, crying until my throat burned and my body shook but at some point, the sobs slowed and the tears dried, I was left with nothing but the pounding of my heart and the raw sting in my chest.
I pressed the back of my hand across my wet face, forcing myself to breathe. .
Enough.
Crying wouldn’t save me, crying wouldn’t get me out of here.
The Red-Eyed Alpha wanted me broken, he wanted me on my knees, begging, willing to take his hand when he offered it.
