Kane’s POV The healers were at it for what seemed like forever. Her eyes had closed again but her breathing was steady. They pressed these glowing stones against her cut to slow the bleeding, murmured some kind of spells and stuffed herbs into the deep wound. Every little hiss of steam and soft whimper from her made Rafe restless, wanting to rip everyone away and protect her from even the smallest discomfort. But I made myself stay put. I had to, she really needed this. When the last stone lost its glow and the head healer finally stepped back, he looked at me carefully. “She’s going to be okay, Alpha.
