Ava’s POV
The door slammed shut.
I just stood there frozen, clutching the dress against my chest like a shield. My whole body was trembling, not just from shame but from something worse. Something I didn’t even want to put a name to.
My reflection in the mirror stared back at me, my wide eyes, flushed cheeks and bandages half-pulled down.
“What the hell just happened?” I whispered to myself but the sound of my own voice only made the heat rise higher up my neck.
Zack had seen me.
Completely.
The scars, the bruises, the wound from the red-eyed Alpha that hadn’t fully healed. Every flaw that I had been desperate to hide, every reminder of my weakness. He saw it all.
And he hadn’t looked away.
No…he had looked at me like… like I was something he wanted.
My knees gave out and I stumb
