I could still feel Kane's lips on my lips when I went to bed, it was all I could think about, his voice, his strong hands, the way he had held me like I was the most important thing in his world.
But then the words came back, the voice of the elders echoed in my head and deep down, part of me feared they were right.
I had been pushed around my whole life. My old pack treated me like dirt and even here, in Kane’s pack, I hadn’t done anything to prove them wrong.
