Ava’s POV The air between us was too heavy, I couldn't breathe. Kane’s hand was still warm against my jaw, his eyes dark, locked on me like I was the only thing he saw, the only thing that mattered. My heart was pounding so loud I swore he could hear it. Then he closed the space between us. His lips pressed against mine, slow at first, almost hesitant.
