When I opened my eyes, my bedroom was enshrouded in complete darkness. I glanced out and it was already evening. For how long did I sleep? The room was cold too and I noticed that the full length windows were wide open now, letting in the cold breeze. A thunder stroke on the dark sky and the accompanying sound almost made me jump. I hate the sound of thunder. Especially because it comes as a surprise. There was a scientific reason for why we see thunder strike first and then get to listen to the sound and I think it was related to the speed of light compared to that of sound or something.
