Leah nods at my instructions. I’m just about to say something else when the door slams open.
A guard stumbles in, chest heaving like he just ran for miles. His eyes are wide, and his hand clutches his side.
“Alpha,” he pants.
“What is it, Liam?” Matteo snaps, already on edge.
“We’ve got a few guards who are near the pack-borders, down. Barely breathing… they look almost..lifeless.”
My heart lurches. Before I can even process it, Matteo, Leah, and I all shout in unison, “WHAT?!”
Liam straightens, pointing toward the door. “I… I don’t know how it happened—”
“Take me to them. Now!” Matteo barks, already rushing out the door.
With Neo finally stable, I exchange a quick glance with Leah. No words needed. We both bolt after him. We have to see those guards for ourselves.
