She went to the women’s hut with Thora some time ago. I have not heard many sounds, but I feel I should go with her. She told me not to, but Erik asked me to be with her.
“Go to her,” Catherine tells me, gently touching my arm as I look over at the building she is in. “She will push you away. Don’t let her.”
“I don’t want her to hate me,” I say.
“She may, but only for a short while. She is just upset because Erik is not here. I know how it feels. Go.”
I nod, knowing that she is right. “He asked me to be with her while she gives birth. He told me to place a rune on the baby and that I would know what was right. He didn’t even tell me what to bestow on his son.”
