“I have missed you,” I tell him with a smile.
“And I you,” he tells me, kissing me again. “The next raid, you must join me.”
I giggle into his chest. “We have too many children for that.”
“Come,” he says, releasing me and taking my hand. “I must show you how much I miss you so you will decide to come with me next time.”
“The children,” I say with a giggle, but he ignores me. He pulls me into the woods along a path that has become so familiar by now. It’s a beautiful walk up to a large ledge that overlooks where the fire sometimes comes from the earth. It’s a special place he has only shared with Harald and me.
