Thorolf is leading this… whatever it is that we are on. He won’t tell me, but he swore it was not a raid. Ansuz, the twins, and Ivar all seem to know. Being left out makes me so mad.
A wave comes up and pushes us, almost like the water wants us to be there—like the Gods are watching us and pushing us to the shore.
“When we get there, stay in the boat,” Thorolf tells us. “I need to speak with the Jarl, so he knows we aren’t here to harm them.”
“Why wouldn’t Ansuz talk to him?” I ask, challenging him. “He’s the Jarl.”
He shrugs, lifting an oar. He begins to row, everyone following his lead without him telling us. None of this makes sense.
We reach the shore, and Thorolf jumps out, pulling the boat in. No one moves, actually doing what he told us.
