‘Maybe you should have a sit down, have you taken your break yet?’ I ask, moving around the counter away from my friend and colleague, Lincoln who is still perusing the case of treats, making his decision on what to take back to the office.
I make my way toward my woman who has just finished serving the last customer in the queue of Mackenzie’s bakery, her attention now on me as she bites her lip, a smile on her face.
