We had been asked to stand down while Peter entertained his ‘guests’.
We all knew what that meant.
We were to keep our distance until he called for us to remove the victim, whatever state they might be in, and remain silent about doing so.
Truthfully, it didn’t sit well with any of us but really, it was none of our business. We were paid to guard and follow his commands, so that is what we did.
This time it was a little different though. Usually, he had finished with his guests by now, and as the minutes ticked by I was becoming increasingly concerned.
