"Is this all just a game to you?" I asked, my brow furrowing as a hot spark of irritation flickered in my chest. Their sudden, calm sincerity was actually ticking me off more than their arrogance ever could. The worst part was that I knew I was weak against them. Out of everything I’d just thrown in their faces, only the part about the trust was actually true. The lie about the love was a shield I was using to survive.
