“Cali!” “Mommy!” I snapped back into reality when I heard that voice. “Oh my gosh! Cali!” Kyla’s voice echoed in the basement. I stiffened on my feet as I looked at the mother and daughter hugging in the middle of the basement. I bit my lip and massaged my head as I looked at both of them. Oh gosh… “Louve!” I quickly looked at Devin, who was half-running towards me. I felt like all the emotions that I had been holding earlier just dawned on me. I broke down. I immediately ran to him and he welcomed me into his arms. He hugged me tightly and buried my face on his chest. I was sobbing in his chest while he was caressing my back. My mind was haywire. I couldn’t think of anything except for the fact that we almost died earlier…that an innocent little girl almost died! I was crying
