"So, how's Kai? is she ok?"
I ask my dad as I mess around with the leftover food on my plate.
Normally, I finish every last scrap of food I've been served and I even used to lick the plate before I met Nina, after all, there's nothing better than a mother's cooking but today's different thanks to the disastrous events at the bonfire.
"She's fine, you know our Kai...she's not gonna let a little thing like kidnap and abuse bring her down"
"Little thing, pfft"
I scoff as I roll my eyes.
"There's nothing little about what those assholes did to her dad"
I growl slightly remembering what they did to my baby sister.
