**Chase’s POV** I couldn’t close my eyes. The house was too quiet. The triplets’ soft breathing drifted down the hall like a lullaby I didn’t deserve. Every time I tried to lie still, Dmitri’s taunting video looped in my head—his yellow eyes, the promise of blood. The mutilated deer. The carved warnings on the trees. My wolf paced inside me, claws scraping ribs, demanding I shift, run, fight now. But I stayed human. Barely.
