LIORA’S POV
Getting over the fence was harder than I’d anticipated.
My first attempt ended with me sliding back down, scraping my palms on the rough stone. The second try got me halfway up before my grip failed.
“You need more momentum,” Myra hissed from below. “Stop being so timid about it.”
“I’m not being timid. I’m being careful.”
“You’re being slow. Someone’s going to come by and see us.”
That motivated me. I took a running start this time, using Myra’s boost to propel myself higher. My fingers caught the top edge and I pulled with all my strength.
I made it over, but my landing was far from graceful.
