"I can't believe you deliberately disobeyed me, have you learned nothing from me?" Lucifer hissed at Austin starting to pace the room, a habit Austin inherited from him.
I leaned forward slowly, inching closer to the slightly ajar door, silently hoping they wouldn't sense me eavesdropping. Once Kane was taken to the medical wing of the modern castle for recovery, Lucifer asked for a word with Austin, the atmosphere was so tense I all but ran into the room to give them some privacy to hash it out, but even so, there was a dangerous edge to Lucifer that II didn't quite trust leaving him completely alone with my mate.
