Five Years Later
‘Elise! Will you sit still for the love of the Moon Goddess?’ I groaned as my sister shifted in her chair for the seventeenth time in as many minutes, glancing up at the clock before checking her wrist watch and sighing.
Looking over at me, my sister frowned cutely, ‘Are you sure the clock isn’t broken?’ she moaned miserably.
‘No Elise, it still isn’t broken, just like it wasn’t ten minutes ago when you asked me then’ I replied wearily.
Elise and I were sat in the living room together waiting as the minute hand of the clock on the mantle piece clicked slowly toward midnight.
