Prologue

Years passed and the peace in the Sangkatauhan was maintained, thanks to the bravery and sacrifices of the ones who fought for that peace.    And now the Baganis and their friends are enjoying the little housewarming celebration for Flair as she and her daughter just moved into their new house. It was a house that she designed herself; a two-story house that is big enough for her and her daughter. It has a huge backyard that has a treehouse for five-year-old Saree.   Lander was the one who helped landscape the whole yard and design the treehouse for his favorite little girl. There is also a pool that was not too deep and not too shallow.   The six of them are celebrating in the backyard garden that Lander prepared for that day.  “I really like what you did with your house Flair,” Aquel said. “Anything for Saree. That’s why I chose this subdivision since it's peaceful here and not to mention the neighbors are friendly.” Flair said. “Speaking of neighbor, on my way here, I saw someone moving into the house next to yours,” Jayz said. “Who could be your new neighbor? I hope he’s a good-looking guy that we can pair with Flair.” Windzy teased, making Flair roll her eyes. “Hey! No boyfriend for Flair. She has to focus on Saree and our business.” Lander blurted, slamming his hand on the table. “You find yourself a girlfriend and stop pestering Flair all the time.” Aquel snapped at Lander who stuck his tongue at her. “Very mature,” Aquel grumbled, and the others chuckled. “By the way, is there anything bothering you here? Any kind of creature? If so I can send some pintados to guard you two.” Thirdy said and Flair shook her head. “No need Thirdy, I want Saree to grow up without thinking about the creatures around her. I want her to live like any normal children her age.”Flair said. “Does she have any powers?”Lander asked, and Flair shook her head. “And I like to keep it that way as long as I can.”Flair told her friends. “What if she develops them now? She needs guidance.” Windzy said.   Flair shook her head. “I hope she won’t.” “But still, she needs to know how to protect herself, or just let the pintados protect her,” Thirdy said.   Flair sighed when she looked at Thirdy. Looking at him reminds her of her late husband Marcus, especially now that Thirdy is the new Heneral of the Pintados.  Then they heard giggles and loud barking. The six of them were startled when they looked at Saree as the dogs are all floating in the air. Flair scrambled out of her seat and she immediately grabbed Saree and she carried her in her arms before she carefully brought the dogs down.   Flair and the others looked at each other with wide eyes. Flair’s heart started hammering against her chest as the thing that wished to not happen just happened.  “The child has gifts that surpass the four of you.”   Then their eyes fell on Ka Tokleng who appeared in front of them.  “She is indeed the daughter that has the blood of a Bagani, a diwata, a babaylan, and a dalakitnon. The Katolanon sees the power that will once again bring the Baganis together.
