Chris barely made it down the hallway And then he heard it. Her scream. His name. “Christopher..!” It wasn’t weak. It wasn’t a whimper. It was a f*****g roar. Ripped straight from her soul, drenched in heat and desperation and something so primal, so her, it knocked the wind out of him. He froze. The world tilted. His name, his goddamn name, was coming out of her mouth again. After all this time. After all the sleepless nights sitting by her bedside, begging the universe to give her back. After all the silence. After all the prayers. After every whispered please remember me into her unconscious ear… She remembered. She remembered. He didn’t think. Didn’t breathe. Didn’t blink. His body moved on instinct, tearing down the hallway like he was running into a burning building
