“Vivian!” Vivian’s body collapsed into her arms, eyes wide, lips trembling, chest spasming like something inside her had shattered beyond repair. She dropped with her, knees slamming the cold tile, arms wrapping around her daughter’s trembling frame like she could hold her together with nothing but love and desperation. “Vivian, talk to me, please baby, please don’t do this, not again, not now, not when I just got you back!” The door burst open so violently the walls shook.
