She Might Be Back

1728 Words

Where the hell am I?” Vivian’s voice echoed into nothingness. She turned, but there was nothing. Just pure darkness which was thick, suffocating, the kind you could slice with a knife. A chill crawled down her spine. “No. No, no, no. This isn’t right. This isn’t real”. They say death is inevitable. That you can’t cheat it. That when it comes, it takes. Vivian never thought she’d be at this point. Never thought she’d feel it this close, pressing in, tightening around her like a noose. If she had known it would be this bad, would she have still gone to help Lola? Yes. Even knowing what would happen, even knowing it would bring her here, to the brink of death, she knew deep down she still would have gone. But she wasn’t ready to die. She couldn’t. There was still so much left undone.
