We sat on a bench at the park, each holding a cup of ice cream. Derek chose chocolate, and I went with my usual strawberry. The tension from seeing Rebecca remained, but the ice cream helped make things feel better.
For a while, we didn’t talk, we just sat there, letting the calm settle back in. Derek was the first to break the silence.
“She dyed his hair,” He said, his voice low but full of disbelief.
