(Olivia) The next day, I slid into the driver’s seat of Derek’s car, taking a moment to breathe in the familiar scent of leather mixed with his cologne. I told him I needed to do something important and asked him to borrow his car. He’d given me the go-ahead without hesitation, mentioning that he’d be busy at the office.
