(Olivia) I snuggled closer to Derek as he relaxed on the couch, a rare sight that made my heart feel light. He’d finally agreed to take the day off, and I wasn’t about to let him regret it. After seeing him constantly stressed and buried in work, he needed a break. I’d spent most of the morning cooking his favorite breakfast—scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes. He ate everything with a smile, and seeing him enjoy the food I’d made felt so satisfying.
