(Olivia) Derek went to get something to eat, and I was at my desk, going through some emails, when I heard a knock on the door. I looked up, and my heart sank. Derek’s parents stood there with Raymond. It was the last thing I’d expected. My fingers froze over the keyboard, my stomach turning with a mix of surprise and dread. They were the very people who’d judged me, cast me aside, and made me feel small during some of the hardest times in my life.
