Chapter 28: Try to Remember

As always, I felt like I was frozen in place, unable to move, but by now I knew it would be silly to panic. So, I focused on my surroundings and took deep breaths, first in then out, in an attempt to calm my erratically beating heart. I was in bed, lying on my side, curled up into a ball with my muscles so stiff that they ached all over. I tried to stretch my stiff muscles but found it was a difficult task to accomplish. Moving slowly, first one leg, then the other, I finally managed to uncurl myself and lie flat. I reached my arms behind my head, touching the headboard, and tried to stretch my body as much as possible on the bed. The stretch felt good and a moan left my lips.
