I don’t know how long I lay there on top of him. My tears continue to flow freely as I hug him to me. Time seems to have no meaning anymore. Nicholas, who had finally woken up from his unconscious state, sat beside me, gently rubbing my back.            He sat there staring at nothing as the tears had long ago dried up on his cheeks. Malikai tried earlier to get us to go back to the cafeteria, but we both refused harshly. He finally gave up and left us both there alone.            Elodie had disappeared.
