The goo was nearly upon us now. Nicholas, not caring about his shoulder, picks up Calen again. He was sweating and looking pale from the pain but I didn’t know what else to do. We made it a few more steps when my foot fell into a lopsided hole and twisted a little. Losing my footing, and afraid that I was going to hurt it even more, I fell to the ground with a hard thump.            The motion made Nicholas lose his own balance, trying to protect Calen’s head, he fell onto his back. He hissed from the jarring impact.            A thought suddenly enters my brain. “Nicholas! Quick, do an ice spell!
