Chapter 3

I was sprawled on the couch, totally bummed. Even though I've come back from the future, my acting still sucks. The livestream was five minutes away and I still hadn't figured out this script.

"Can I just do something different?" I asked, sitting up. This character and these lines just weren't me.

"Hmm... Any other ideas, Eiran, to promote the product?" Manager Seana asked. It's perfume, and the theme is passion and unrequited love. Seriously?

"How about music? I'm pretty good at piano."

I stood up and slung an arm around Seana. I explained my plan, and she looked at me totally surprised.

"Let's give it a shot. It's just a livestream."

So, we started looking for a location. It was a bit of a struggle until I spotted that familiar restaurant.

"Stop!" I yelled.

"Whoa!" Yexian yelled, too, as Seana slammed on the brakes, almost sending us flying through the windshield.

"Why the sudden yell?" the manager asked, looking at me.

"I found the perfect place to perform," I said, pointing at the restaurant across the street.

The manager peeked out, then asked if I was sure.

"Yeah, I want to do it there."

It's just a normal restaurant. Not many customers, but the atmosphere was really nice. It's where I met Ishaan and had my first date.

I thought about that time I dumped water on Ishaan and walked out.

Not a bad way to start changing things for the future. I got out of the car with Yexian on my arm.

"Whoa, is that Yexian and Hael?!"

A bunch of people stopped when they saw us. I didn't bother with a disguise; I just walked right into the restaurant.

The staff came over and welcomed us. They had an open stage, so my manager didn't have any trouble talking to the owner about the livestream and my performance. Of course, there were still some terms and conditions.

"Honey, you ready?" Seana asked. I said yes, pulled out a chair for Yexian, and told her to wait for me.

My crew arrived to set up the cameras and stage.

"Everyone watching and everyone at a table, list all the food you order or have ordered while I'm performing. It's all on me," I announced, clapping to get everyone's attention.

The people there started shouting and cheering.

"Oh my gosh! Is that really Hael?"

"Free food? Count me in!"

I smiled and bowed, thanking them for cooperating.

"Got your music ready, Eiran?" my manager asked. I said yes and handed her the sheet music I'd just finished.

They started doing my makeup and hair. After everything was set up, I sat down at the piano.

I've loved playing since I was a kid. I love musical instruments and singing, but I dropped all that when I started acting.

It felt amazing to touch the keys. When my manager gave me the signal, I started to play.

"There was a man in a hood. He is like a wind..."

Later, at Ishaan's office, his secretary, Koen, rushed in with his tablet.

"Sir Ishaan! Young Master's trending again!" Koen said, breathless, showing Ishaan his tablet.

"I told you not to bother me with that stuff. Just take care of it," Ishaan said without looking up.

"But sir, it's about the company's new product. Young Master's promoting it live right now," Koen said. Ishaan stopped typing and looked up.

He saw me at the piano, playing. He grabbed his tablet and started watching the livestream.

"Where is he?" Ishaan asked, recognizing the place.

"It's Ranleha Restaurant, sir, near the company," his secretary said. The views were going up, and Ishaan could see the comments.

Yetie234: OMG, is that really Hael? He's even prettier than the models.

TuanBi: I don't like his acting, but his music is amazing.

6892Rips: Am I the only one who noticed his style change? He looks like an angel with that hair and outfit! Forget those past videos of him attacking other artists.

Eugie36: What brand is that shirt? I want one!

Sending spaceship gifts...

Waweee: Whoa, who sent the spaceship?!

Suddenly, tons of gifts started pouring in. Ishaan was annoyed, especially by the gifts worth 800k.

Ishaan sent a castle worth 900k and a bunch of whales worth 100k each.

Hael's viewers went crazy. Hael smiled, picked up the perfume and showed it on the livestream.

"Buy Keen Attraction perfume! If your crush smells this, they'll say yes even if you haven't asked them out yet," Hael said, smiling sweetly. He paused, noticing the gifts flooding the screen.

"Manager, something's wrong with my account. There are so many stickers flying around!" Hael said innocently, leaning closer to the screen.

Eugie36: Oh my gosh! I think I'm in love. Hael is so cute!

Viccent23: Wait, is that part of the script? This is epic! Hahaha...

The views kept climbing. Hael's manager was shocked by the views and how quickly Hael's livestream became a trending topic.

"Manager, the perfume is already sold out!"

Hael heard that and jumped for joy. He thanked everyone who bought the perfume and watched his performance.

"Do you have any perfume left? We want to buy some! And an autograph, Hael!"

People were shouting in the shop. They were buying perfume and asking for pictures with Hael.

"Kyaah! You were amazing, Ranran baby!"

Yexian was jumping around, hugging Hael, who was complaining that she was going to rip his clothes off. The livestream was a huge success.

After lunch, Hael and Yexian headed back to the company.

"Yexi, you've played that song a million times. My ears hurt," Hael complained, pouting as they walked through the company lobby.

"Ranran, come on! The livestream was awesome. Your voice was amazing and your expressions while you were playing were totally different."

Yexian showed Hael the phone recording.

"You looked sad. What were you thinking about while you were playing?" Yexian asked. Hael looked at her, then leaned on her shoulder like a kid.

Besides Ishaan, only Yexian showed him any real concern. She considered his feelings and always asked if he was okay. He hadn't noticed until he lost everything.

"The song was sad. I couldn't help but feel it," Hael lied. How could he tell her that while he was playing, he was thinking about how crazy he'd been about Reign, his first love, who cheated on him with his best friend?

"Eiran!"

Hael stopped and straightened up. He turned and saw Kitty Mavros. She happily approached him and took his hand.

"I saw your livestream—"

She stopped, looking him up and down. She let go of his hand and said his outfit was great.

"Thank you," Hael said, smiling. Yexian proudly said that everything looked good on him.

"Oh my," Hael reacted, happily hugging Yexian, saying she knew how to flatter him.

"Eiran, Reign's here too. Have you seen him?" Kitty asked. Hael turned, feeling Yexian's hug tighten. He looked at Yexian and smiled a little to comfort her.

Yexian loosened her hug slightly and Hael faced Kitty.

"No, I just got back from the location. I thought he was still in Manila," Hael said. Kitty said Reign was worried because Hael had missed a lot of calls yesterday.

"He's worried about you," Kitty said, taking Hael's hand. She offered to take him to Reign.

"Sorry. I'll call him later. I need to talk to my manager about my next project. It's still work hours," Hael replied, gently pulling his hand back.

He left with Yexian. Yexian asked if anything had happened yesterday.

He remembered asking Reign for help because Ishaan was furious with him. Ishaan had found out that Hael had given him the jade bracelet he'd given him to the Jasver matriarch as a gift.

Ishaan almost killed him when he found out. He needed to get it back because he knew there was a reason Ishaan was so angry when he gave it away.

Hael owned half of Axelrod shares and got an 80 million monthly allowance, but because of that bracelet, Ishaan almost broke his bones on their wedding night and last night he was incredibly disappointed.

"Call me if you have any questions," Seana said. Hael thanked her, holding his new schedule for tomorrow, sitting on the couch.

He stopped when he felt Seana's strange gaze.

"Anything else?" Hael asked. Seana hugged the folder.

"Sorry, Eiran, but I'm just curious about your behavior lately. I'm just making sure you're still the Eiran I've been taking care of these past few months," his manager said. Hael laughed and put down the documents.

"Feel my face if you don't believe me."

Hael took Seana's hand and put it on his cheek. He said it was really him.

Just then, the door opened, and... Reign Jasver walked in. His face crumpled when he saw Hael and Seana, who immediately pulled her hand away.

"Don't you know how to knock?"

He walked towards Hael heavily. Seana stepped in front of Hael, saying what thinking Reign was wrong.

Reign shoved Seana aside and grabbed Hael. He asked what was wrong and why Hael was letting Seana touch him.

"No one's here except my manager, Seana," Hael said, taking his hand back. He walked past Reign and asked Seana if she was okay. Seana nodded.

"You should leave. Let's continue our talk about the commercial later."

Seana left. Reign sat down, annoyed, and asked why Hael hadn't replied to his texts.

"I was at a nearby restaurant for a livestream," Hael said. Reign stopped and looked at him.

"You promised you wouldn't sing again, right? Babe, I don't want people laughing at you," Reign said, concerned. He clearly hadn't seen the livestream.

Then he noticed Hael's outfit. He stood up and asked where Hael got it.

"The dressing room."

Reign said Hael was a guy and shouldn't wear such revealing clothes.

"Especially since you're a celebrity."

Reign took off his coat and put it on Hael's shoulders. Hael didn't react—he was disgusted by Reign's fake concern.

He could see Reign's schemes behind his sweet words. How could he not see Hael's musical talent? Hael had been called a musical genius since he was a kid. Reign even criticized his style. His clothes suited him perfectly, even though he's a guy, his features aren't manly. He's more on the sexy side than masculine.

"Reign, I need that jade bracelet back," Hael said. Reign was surprised.

"You gave it to my mom. Why do you want it back?" Reign snapped. Hael explained that Ishaan almost killed him because of it.

"What! No! My mom will be mad at you. Babe... just leave it with my mom, okay?" Reign said, taking Hael's hand. This jerk... If Ishaan was truly ruthless, he would let Hael die for that bracelet.
